Glad to know that Oriole Coffee & Bar has finally re-opened its doors back in January after a refurbishment of 2 months. Been here twice before they revamped and wasn't really impressed with the food. But glad to know that the refreshed menu offers a wider range of food after the refurbishment as well as bringing back their signature Raven & Yellowbird blends.

House Of Peranakan Petit, Tiong Bahru
The latest dining addition to Tiong Bahru is House of Peranakan Petit, a modern and intimate Peranakan setting along Eng Hoon Street - a former Peranakan enclave. I believe many of the hip cafes these days have outshone some of the traditional cuisine such as Peranakan. And I'm glad that House of Peranakan Petit is born from a desire to offer top notch Peranakan heritage food.

Singaporean Food Culture [Food Panda Blogger Entry]
Recently I have came across Seth Lui's instagram page showing Singapore blogger contest in collaboration with Food Panda. I have people asking me exactly what food represent Singapore's food culture. To me it has got to be Nasi Lemak, a classic food I grew up with. Since young, my family tend to dabao back home and we would sit round the table to snack on the crispy chicken wings etc. Reason being simple, nasi lemak reminds me of family warmth and my country home which I'm proud to call, Singapore.

The Burning Oak, Bedok Marketplace - Singapore
I haven't been to Simpang Bedok in the longest time and didn't even realized the Bedok Market Place has been renovated. I'm glad to have the privilege to attend a tasting session with The Burning Oak, which specializes in Japanese yakitori, bringing these innovative grills into the hawker scene. They uses binchotan, a charcoal made with Japanese oak to grill their meats.

Osaka, Japan Day 6 - Aquarium Kaiyukan, Osaka Castle, Dotonbori
Apologies for the extreme backlog for my Japan travelogue! As much as I want to quickly finish this but there's little time for me to do so. Nuff said. On my 6th day in Japan, I'll be heading from Tokyo to Osaka for 2 nights! And of course putting our unlimited JR pass to good use! We've activated the pass the day before here.

[CLOSED] Monochrome Fusion Bistro, South Bridge Road
Monochrome Fusion Bistro has recently opened it's door, offering items of Western-Japanese fusion. The name Monochrome probably says it all, the minimalist interior are in shades of black and white. True to it, the name has already attracted my attention even before I make my way down. Though I know photo taking would be so much pleasing but I'm curious about the dishes they have to offer.

O'Coffee Club High Tea Set
I have always thought that having high tea in Singapore is expensive until O'Coffee Club launch their all-new afternoon tea. The new afternoon tea at O'Coffee Club has made high tea so much affordable and filling for the tummy. And this afternoon tea set spells mid-day indulgence for everyone.

[RELOCATED] Ice Queen, Nitrogen Ice Cream
Ice Queen is a liquid nitrogen ice cream parlor located along East Coast Road, opposite Chin Mee Chin Confectionery. 'Ice Queen' sounds similar to ice cream is what owner Ee-Lin came up with, that these will suit the taste buds of the 'queens'. I've seen a lot about them on IG and recently I finally visited Ice Queen.
