Mookata also literally means 'Pork BBQ in Thai language where you get to enjoy both bbq meat and hot pot at the same time. I am a big fan of mookata - have been trying many of them in Singapore and MooJaa is probably one of the most popular place for Mookata.
I've always like my mookata experience with heating by charcoal as it's more fragrant. And that's what sets MooJaa apart from the rest which uses direct flame in heating. There are many these hot pot stalls opening in Singapore but quality wise is another thing.
Clean and classy ambience adds a plus point to your mookata experience.
MooJaa said to be Singapore's No. 1 Mookata offers 3 kinds of set and ala carte buffet. Do note that beverages is not included in the ala carte buffet, additional $5 for free flow of beverages - the lemon grass drink is so refreshing! Since it's my first visit, we went ahead with buffet to try all the meat.
The ala carte buffet at $32+ offers a wide range of items and one premium meat per buffet diner, a choice of Kurobuta Pork or Angus Beef. Since there's the 2 of us, we went ahead with one each. The variety of items were extensive such as scallop, pork collar, beef slice etc. Interesting items such as cheese ball, fish skin and abalone slice.
The sauce is made with MooJaa's secret recipe containing 30 different herbs and spices, that plays a big part in pairing the meats. Marination of meats were good too but not the best I had, my favorite mookata stall is still Kin Mookata.
