Chir Chir Introduces Honey Butter Chicken, Chinatown Point

Last year, Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory from Korea arrived into Singapore's F&B scene, regaling everyone with variations of fried and roasted chook, including the crowd pleaser Nest Snow. Now, bringing you the next big thing at Chir Chir, is the Honey Butter Chicken, which will be available from 4th April alongside with seafood alternatives, Korean food with a twist as well as ice-blended slushies. More glorious food, more chicken goodness.

The newest branch at Chinatown point, opened in December 2015 has extended their opening hours until 3am everyday. This welcomes supper goers to have friend chicken fix at wee hours in this chicken kingdom.

On the new menu, we can expect a colorful collection of boozy beverages, refreshing and perfect for some fried or spicy food. As good as desserts, the double smoothie series is blended with mango puree and topped with different flavoured ice slushes. Aqua/ Mojito/ Raspberry Double Smoothie ($12.90 each | add $3 for Soju) - Aqua is made with mixed tropical fruits; Mojito with lime. After which, it is crowned with swirl of whipped cream and rainbow sprinkles. One of these is perfect for two!

One of the new item on the menu is this Topokki & Cheese $9.90. This is created specially for Singapore as the outlets in Korea do not serve this. Addictive is this chewy Korean rice cakes luxuriating in a creamy blend of cheeses and garnished with chicken ham and crunchy bacon bits. I can't deny that this cheesy dish is heaven.

Some of you may recognise the inspiration behind the Honey Butter Chicken $28.90, it's the popular honey butter potato chips that recently swept Korea. Chir Chir's take on this is glazes crispy battered chicken, potato wedges and pan-fried toppoki (rice cakes) in lashings of honey butter sauce. It is then shower with honey butter seasoning powder, dried cranberries and sliced almonds. For the ultimate oomph, dip the meat into the honey garlic mayo dip!

Something out of the norm at Chir Chir is this Spicy Seafood Soup $26.90. This bowl of rich clam-based broth is loaded with glass noodles, mussels, prawns, crayfish and a whole squid. Indeed my definition of comfort food.

For something spicy and fiery on the new menu, this is definitely for you - Spicy Topokki $15.90. With Korean rice cakes, sliced fishcake, cubed sweet potatoes, crispy cajun fried squid and deep-fried hardboiled egg basked in gochujang (red pepper paste) sauce. Top up an additional $4 with breaded chicken tenders. Spicy but shiok.

This dish here is actually on the existing menu, Rosemary Chicken $29.90. These ambrosial oven roasts chicken are put through 12 hours of marinating to ensure maximum flavour. It is then accompanied by a salsa dip, a salt-baked egg, and a baked potato with sour cream. This is an ideal alternative to deep fried chicken.

With the launch of two more outlets after the first debuted at 313@Somserset, there are more to look forward to at Singapore's favorite chimaek restaurant. The branch at Chinatown Point opens till late night so it's another option for supper. Gearing up to share the spotlight is new headline act - Honey Butter Chicken - Behold.
