Taking up prime frontage of Marina Square's new lifestyle and dining wing, Emporium Shokuhin is Singapore's first Japanese food shopping and dining spot that consists of a Japanese gourmet grocer, live seafood market, beef-dry aging facility and 8 new dining concepts. Among the 8 dining, we had the Tsukeru Shabu-Shabu.
Tsukeru Shabu-Shabu feature a range of Japanese and Asian broths. We tried both the Japanese broth, Seaweed and Tonkotsu miso. I would definitely prefer these to the Asian broth though. Besides that, there are a wide spread of vegetable platters, seafood and premium meats.
Just like any other
modern steamboat restaurant, a counter of specially concocted sauces are
available. This is best to pair your shabu-shabu with a range of condiments for
that extra oomph.
We had the Kurobuta
Pork Belly $8, Tiger Prawns, Hamachi slices $14, Vegetable platter $16,
Mushroom platter $18, Prime USDA Ribeye $18 and A5 Miyazaki Wagyu shin rosu
$28. The platters consists a number of items which can serves approximately 2 to 3 persons.
The thing we highly
recommend is the premium meats here such as A5 Miyazaki wagyu. So good. If we are near the vicinity of marina square and craving for hotpot, Tsukeru Shabu-Shabu is definitely my top pick.
Besides this, other
dining options include Senmi Sushi sushi bar, Burosu Honten gyoza and ramen,
Kohi-koji cafe and bakery, Takujo fine dining as well as ready-to-eat section
and other quick takeaway meals.
We capped off the meal
with a Homemade Creme Caramel $5, pretty good though decent I would say.
After a hearty dinner, we spent about 20mins checking out Emporium Shokuhin which offers quality Japanese produce and foods. The name 'Shokuhin' literally means 'food products' in Japanese, as reflected by it's kanji characters. It is also a one-stop shop for live seafood, premium meats, fresh produce and products.
The live seafood market features 22 specially-designed sea water tanks from over 20 types of live fish and shellfish from around the world. Emporium Shokuhin probably deliver the freshest catches. Highlights include live Japanese imports such as sea urchin, hokkaido hairy crabs, scallops, bamboo clams and king crabs.
Introducing the beef dry-aging facility where premium beef will be aged onsite and retailed at Emporium Shokuhin. You can find the award-winning Japanese A5 Miyazaki beef directly from Miyazaki prefecture here.
Products such as ponzu
dressing, miso dips and any other Japanese products can be easily be found here
too. Of course there are other local products as well to make grocery shopping
easy for one. All in all, Emporium Shokuhin's inventory offers all that is
needed to whip up meals incorporating the best of Japan! Then again, be sure to check out the 8 dining concepts here, looking forward to check out the other 7.
