Hyde & Co. - North Bridge Road

Spent my last day of 2014 here at Hyde & Co. since most of us are off from work. We were attracted by it's pretty decor and a wide range of flavored teas. Hyde & Co. is a cozy contemporary English-themed cafe and is one of the latest addition to the cafe scene in the heart of kampong glam. 

Being an English themed cafe, you will expect to find crumpets which is also similarly known as English muffins - both griddle cakes. Crumpets being the specialty at Hyde & Co, you will expect to find it done in many ways - in different homemade spreads and additional add-ons.

In the brunch menu, half of it is dedicated to customizing your crumpets stack. 

As well as the usual essential brunch items and sides.

Hyde & Co. offers a wide range of flavour teas in pretty tea pots. We went ahead with some of the unique ones like Latte tea and China Rose.

Truffle fries $10 - thick cut fries mixed with truffle oil and drizzle with parmesan cheese. I like how the thick fries is fried to golden crispy but the truffle fragrant could be stronger.

Since we are here, of course we ordered the crumpets. We went for the sweet crumpets, Lemon Curd & Cream $11.90. A stack of 3 paired with luscious homemade lemon curd and cream drizzled generously with condensed milk. Sweet and sour does goes well together. 

The crumpets were slightly soft but slightly dry, though I personally like the ones at Arbite.

Choose one of the mains and decided to went ahead with The Full Works $17.90 since there are 4 of us. The full works comprises a bit of everything - cheese portobello mushrooms, bratwurst, bacon, roasted potatoes, scrambled eggs, a slice of sourdough rye and homemade crumpets.

It sounds a lot but it's a small portion of everything. Overall decent but the scrambled eggs were disappointing.

Crumpets are not commonly found in cafes and Hyde & Co. is definitely one my listed place to fix my crumpets craving. Prices are still pretty affordable but probably not all the portion. A unique place to unwind over a cup of coffee but not when it's crowded, it gets really noisy in the shoebox size store. Overall, the food were pretty decent - will definitely be back for tea!
