The Kitchen Table - W Hotel Sentosa Cove, Singapore

The Kitchen Table nestled in Sentosa, is also one of the buffet restaurants in W Hotel Singapore. The buffet line up 'Food From The Heart' serves from six live cooking stations, where chefs work their magic on dishing up a la minute platters. It was a night of fun and indulgence for my company's dinner and dance, on a friday night.

When we arrived at 7pm, we can't help but to keep noticing the pretty ceilings and pool view outside the restaurant. No doubt an ideal place to chill over good food and drinks, away from the bustling city.

While having buffet, I'd always have desserts first before moving to the savoury dishes. But in this case, the sushi bar looks exceptionally tempting. Ranging from California maki to crabmeat inari sushi and more.

For seafood segment, there were wide spread of them. From all kinds such as lobsters, oysters, mussels, salmon sashimi, fresh prawns and more. The succulent seafood were fresh and satisfying.

At the side, you have the usual salad/snack bar such as smoked salmon to pair it along with pickles.

And the usual cheese corner with all sort of cheese for the cheesy lover :P

Asian delights were served for the cooked food section, such as braised vegetables, cereal chicken, steamed fish, fried rice and others. There's a Indian cuisine station as well, serving freshly fried papadum, nann, nasi briyani, kebab etc.

At the corner of the cooked food segment, you will find Black Pepper & Curry Leaf Crab. It's quite hidden at the foreground so take a look out for the kitchen's special.

I was expecting a better range of pasta and sauce to pick from but only Squid Ink with Crab meat pasta is available at my point of visit. It was not too bad, just a little bland. Some ground pepper and salt added would be perfect.

Something unique from the usual buffet line, here's sweet and sour fondue dipped with fried mantou. I was pretty excited to try it but sadly it turns out nothing impressive :(

Freshly grilled succulent prawns from the Indian cuisine station. Slightly dry but overall decent.

Over to the noodles station, serving local dish like laksa and char siew noodles. I prefer laksa over the char siew noodle though. And steamed soup, seabass and scallop is available as well.

Lastly, we have arrived at the desserts station! From cookies, fruits, chocolate fondue, apple crumble, cakes and more unique ones. I've to say I was disappointed at the spread, while comparing my last visit at Shangri-la, The Line.

The front view of the dessert segment, though there weren't much variety but the cakes are of good quality. Specially decorated in a wine glass, no doubt we are all immersed by them.

It may seems slightly inaccessible if you're coming by public transport, but no worries that W hotel offers shuttle buses going out. Do note that wines, juices, beers are not inclusive in the buffet. Overall, service given was impressive and efficient. Ambience was great and calming for the soul. Food and spread were decent but I wouldn't be back unless special changes is made to the buffet menu.
