How time flies, the joyous season of the year is nearing! Just in time for the festive season, MEDZS has launched the MEDZS Rainbow Log Cake. A limited edition offering, this 1.2kg log cake is inspired by MEDZS's signature rainbow cake, which was voted by 8 Days the best version in town.
And of course, what's Christmas without log cakes right? With a wonderful splash of colours, this stunning masterpiece of a dessert is one that very few can resist. Looking at it just makes one happy, yea?
The MEDZS Rainbow Log Cake $46.90 (1.2kg) is a limited edition just for this festive season. This log cake comes with seven layers of flavored cream: cream cheese, orange cream, caramel, blueberry, peppermint, chocolate chips and almond. Crowning the cake are chocolate ganache and a medley of fresh strawberries and berries. I personally love the rainbow cakes at MEDZS, each layer of sponge cake is light and cottony! Highly recommended.
Besides the Rainbow log cake, MEDZS offers this Belgian Dark Callebaut Log Cake $43.90 (1.2kg) as well. This is a pure indulgence for all chocolate lovers. It is made with 100% Belgian dark callebaut chocolate and rolled with crispy chocolate pearls between layers of chocolate sponge and truffle cream. However, it's a tad dry. Rainbow log cake pls!

Moving on to what MEDZS has to offer in their Christmas menu. One of them to expect would be the Oven Roasted Pork Roulade with Provencal Herbs and Confit Garlic $68 (1.2kg), served with roasted root vegetables. A spectacular roll-up of the pork belly with bacons and Medzs' recipe nuts filling at the centre of the meat layers. It's similar to the local dish 'shaorou' and you can tell from the photo above how crisp and juicy the the skin is. Wah so good!
Other tasty offerings include Oven Roasted Crispy Pork Knuckle with Bratwurst $68 (1.5kg). Tender and juicy meat resting within the perfectly roasted crispy skin, Medzs special pork knuckle gives every bite a burst of satisfying flavours. The home-made gravy goes well together too. I must say the pork knuckle is much tender as compared to the pork roulade. Overall, the crispy skin that is roast to perfection is the bomb.
The menu also boasts Christmas must-haves such as the Mediterranean Spice Infused Whole Turkey with Foie Gras and Chestnut Stuffing $118 (4kg). The mammoth turkey is well roasted and the flavourful foie gras stuffing enlivens the meat. Accompanying this mainstay are roasted root vegetables, home-made gravy and cranberry sauce. This dish was overall decent and nothing impressive, all hands up for the roasted pork belly!
Besides the Christmas special dishes, here are some of the mains we tried as well. Over to the Italy region at MEDZS which is home to a range of Mediterranean cuisine. Spaghetti Prawn Aglio E Olio ($19.90) was one of the pasta offered, the noodles were well infused and flavourful. If you're looking to have pasta at MEDZS, I would suggest going for Penne Ham & Mushroom Carbonara ($17.90). It's really good.
Be sure not to miss their signature rosti at MEDZS, ranging from $6.90 (plain rosti) to $12.90. We went ahead to try Rosti with Parma Ham ($12.90) this time. The potato slices were flavourful even though it was really moist within and least crisp on the surface. The first time I had at the other outlet was better but sorry I'm still with Marche for rosti fix.
Truffle Fries ($9.90), best paired with craft beers. Accompanied with garlic mayo dip was an excellent choice, but it would be perfect if the truffle infuse was stronger.
Ending off our meals with these Chocolate Pralines ($15.90). They are presented in five different artisan flavours: Chewy Caramel, Peppermint Cream, Nutty Cranberry, Hazelnut Cream and Coconut Candy. These MEDZS' Chocolate Pralines make the perfect gifts for anyone. Happy Holidays!
