You may have already been or heard about I'm KIM Korean BBQ as well as KOKOMAMA for their bingsu and pastries located at SOTA. And this time, the same folks behind these two establishments has recently opened a steamboat and Korean buffet restaurant called GoroGoro, situated centrally at Orchard Gateway.
You may be wondering who are these cartoon monsters that you see in the restaurant. Each of this monster represent the different types of broth offered and GoroGoro refers to the sound an empty tummy make when hungry. There are up to 70 selections of meats, vegetables and drinks available to savour.
GoroGoro caters to different taste buds with six choices of broth to select from: Ginseng Chicken, Beauty Collagen, Mala, Tomyum, Tomato and Vegetarian. You will be starting off with 2 broths but if you want to try 3 flavours, there will be an additional top up of $5++.
A wide range of condiments to pick from, as well as sliced fruits. The sauces were mainly Asian spices such as sambal and Thai chilli. Honestly, I was expecting some Gochujang or Ssamjang.
Bringing you through the buffet line, this section brings you the essential items for steamboat. As well as the meat selections below, meats ranging from chicken, pork belly to beef.
For the dinner buffet, there were more than 10 choices of cooked food, all mainly Korean delights. To name a few, there were tteokbokki, Korean pancake, japchae and Korean fried chicken.
Free flow of drinks such as Korean brown rice barley, water chestnut, orange and mango juice.
Desserts such as ice cream is sold separately but I can assure you these Korean ice cream is really worth it. From $2 - $3++, there were Melon, Chocolate and Soda flavored. Highly recommend to go for the melon, it was refreshing and good. Ending my buffet experience at GOROGORO on the right note.
These prices were really affordable for these wide spread, starting at $14.90 for lunch. For students and senior citizens, don't forget to flash your ID cards to get a special price. Located in the heart of Orchard, this could be an ideal place for steamboat with Korean delicacies. As for the broth, I would recommend to go straight into the beauty collagen and vegetarian if you don't wish to be disappoint.
