Riders Cafe, Bukit Timah Saddle Club

Back at Riders Cafe for the second time since my family car is available, as it is hidden behind the lush greenery of bukit timah saddle club. Getting your way here require a car or taxi but be sure to call a cab. Riders Cafe is one of Singapore most popular brunch spot, that reservations have to be placed in advance.

Riders Cafe has one of the earliest brunch time during the weekends from 8am-11am, lunch from 11am-3pm while dinner 6pm to last order. Also noticed the menu is different from my first visit, my favorite curry crab roll is no longer available :(  Since my homies and I didn't make it for brunch, we went ahead with the lunch menu.

Riders also is located beside the ranches and you will occasionally get to see some horses galloping past outside the window.

Truffle Fries $10 - We were disappointed with how it turn out, be it the way it looks and taste. The truffle aroma could be richer and stronger in flavour.

Fried Chicken BLT $17 - Burger buns sandwiched with fried chicken, purple slaw, bacon, kimchi mayonnaise and fries. Overall nothing impressive, wish the buns were slightly toasted more. Fried chicken wise fell short and lack in flavour.

Seared Tilapia with Rice Shaped Pasta $26 - This is one of their lunch special which also means it is not always available on the menu. Not taking the steep price into consideration, this is one of my favourite pick. The tilapia was nicely seared, crisp on the skin and succulent on the meat. The rice shaped pasta were unique and a delight to have.

Riders Burger $18 - 200g of Angus beef, smokey cheddar, branston pickle, house sauce and fries. An additional of $1 for each topping such as mushrooms, bacon or fried egg. The Angus beef was firm and tender in it's texture - full flavored in one mouth-full. The highlight was the big slab of smokey cheddar, it packed the entire dish with flavour.

One of the most highly raved dessert at Riders Cafe, Death By Chocolate Cake $13. The warm chocolate cake is accompanied with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in it. This is quantity > quality, if you fancy really rich and sweet chocolate, this is definitely for you. It was nothing fantastic but everything from the cake to the ice cream was overly sweet. It's indeed an sore-to-the-throat dessert.

For another dessert, we ahead with Salted Caramel Brioche $12. It is then topped with crumbled honeycomb, butterscotch and vanilla ice cream. Other than it being really sweet, no doubt it's a good eat. I personally love this combination, every bite with a crunch.

No doubt it's a lovely brunch spot to chill, one of the unique venue which is away from the bustling city. Reservation is highly recommended during the weekends if you do not want to be turned away in disappointment. Hit and misses in the quality of the food, some were worth the money while some not. Nevertheless, it's still one of my fav brunch spot though inaccessible but I won't be rushing to revisit.
