Seoul, Korea Day 5 - Yeouido Hangang Park, Itaewon

I was there during April and it's the time of the year where the cold winter is starting to fade and flowers are starting to bloom. Every April, Cherry Blossom Festival is held at Yeouido Park, (여의도 공원) on the island in Seoul’s city center. One of the prettiest sight!

During the period when we were there (2013-04-12 ~ 2013-04-18), the annual Yeouido Spring Flower Festival 2013 celebrates the full blossoms of spring along Han River at Yeouido Park.

    To Get There by Subway,
Line 9 National Assembly Stn. Exit 6, walk 5 minutes OR
Line 5 Yeouinaru Stn. Exit 1, walk 15 minutes

It had been a lifelong wish to see cherry blossom (even though it's not in it's fullest bloom yet), thankful to witness one of the prettiest face of Mother Nature!

It is one of the most popular Parks along Han River. The park have exciting events all year-round like the Yeouido Cherry Blossom Festival in the spring, the World Fireworks Festival in the fall and many more!

Taking a stroll under these fluffy flowers, it’s hard to deny the beauty of them!

The first time I stepped into the park along the Han River, I was totally in awe of the beautiful sight right before me. If you can’t get enough of the fluffy flowers, this is the place for you!

The festival will feature a lot of different kinds of flowers, as well as many street vendors selling food as well. Definitely one of the prettiest sight in Korea!

The Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is held in mid-April when the flowers are in full bloom. The celebration is famous for its thousands of Korean Cherry trees!
For more info, visit Official Korea Tourism Website.

Next was to Yeouido Hangang Park for Han River Ferry Cruise, as it will bring you stunning views. Unfortunately, the ticketing booth at Yeouido Dock was overcrowded & we decided to skip it and continue strolling.

Most Seoulites would spent their weekend here, just chillin' w the awesome cold weather w loved their ones and people watching. Wish we had cold weather in Singapore!

When you're heading to Korea during end april, cherry blossoms in spring no doubt is the prettiest sight. A must to see for anyone in Seoul! Next stop, Itaewon for food hunt!

Itaewon typically refers to the street full of stores, restaurants and more!

We did our research and found that Maple Tree House (Korean BBQ) has awesome grill meat especially their Korean Prime Beef Sirloin. Recommended and ranked on the top of TripAdvisor & we know we can't missed this. They've a few branches but we settled at Itaewon instead.

Address: 119-25, Itaewon1-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul-si
Opening Hours: 1130 - 2230

Directions [Subway] :
Itaewon Station (Seoul Subway Line 6), Exit 2.
Look out for Hamilton Hotel (It's a big building)
It's just behind the alley!

The price varies depending the weight of the meat you ordered.
Example: 160g Korean Prime Beef Sirloin: 35,500 won

It is located behind Hamilton Hotel in Itaewon, Maple Tree House is a restaurant where diners can enjoy grilled meat in an elegant ambience. Pretty!

I've to say the cut of meat is really delicious! The beef just melts in your mouth. Must have if you're in that vicinity! For more info, visit www.mapletreehouse.co.kr

Were told by the tourist info counter that there are plently of unique cafes located in Itaewon, with a whole stretch of it. We settled down at Caffe Bene (카페베네). Free Wifi!*

Caffe Bene is a leading coffee label of Korea & it's almost everywhere, you can find it easily. It offers a variety such as coffee, authentic Belgium waffle, gelato ice cream & more. Folks w sweet tooth, you'll love it!

Pretty cafes are everywhere in Seoul. Here's a guide to cafes in Seoul by Singapore Food & Travel blogger, ladyironchef. I thought his guide is very useful! (All rights belongs to him)

We had Korea's Strawberry Bingsu at Caffe Bene. With the combination of strawberry & Azuki, Sweeet! Find out more about them at www.caffebene.co.kr

Lotte snacks we got from Lotte Mart! That's a wrap for Day 5, thanks for reading! x
