Having lobster rolls on your dining table in Singapore is like a luxury, they are sneakily classy and yes expensive here - usually ranging from S$40 and above. This is also why I love Luke's Lobster in Japan, it's really affordable and good?! So the opening of Chunky Lobsters got me pretty excited when I learnt that their lobster rolls is price below S$20.
Their first outlet is located at Oxley tower, smack in the centre of CBD. The shoebox size stall in oxley, with about 5 pax sitting area serves up only 3 items on their menu - Chunky Original, Chunky's Connecticut, Chunky's Cheezy - all at S$16 each. You can also choose to add on to get the set meal, which comes with a cup of lobster bisque and a lemon tea drink at S$3.90.
I had the first two on the menu, the Original and Connecticut. The chunky's original features generous lobster meat with a touch of mayo, lemon and their secret herbs and spices. While the Connecticut on the other hand is coated and toasted with melted butter sauce. The lobsters were tender and sweet with a fresh flavour, although I wished the buns were slightly more toasted and buttery.
Chunky lobsters mark high in terms of affordability although we felt that it has great potential that have yet to be unleashed. Also the folks have recently open another outlet in The Cathay and it will be operating till night time, unlike the oxley tower which closes at 730pm. Do look out for them because the folks are starting to serve up crab rolls as well!

Nah! I would never have a lobster sandwich no matter how luxurious or classy it seems. In fact, I am starving right now while Hire Someone To Take My Class on my behalf so that I can fulfill my prior commitments but I still am not craving this lobster sandwich.
