Recapped 2013: Travelogue

Was recapping the year 2013 while browsing through my photos, indeed it has been another amazing year. Very thankful that we're able to travel to a few places and discovered so much out in this world. Out of these, the trip to Korea & Japan was really a great one thus I decided to blog it. Here's a summary of our travel adventures,

Kyoto

Kyoto was really an eye opener, I wish I could stay there longer to explore more. A place full of historic value and Japanese culture you can't really find in the city. With countless of temples, shrines and other historical priceless structure still exist today.

Fushimi Inari Shrine, Kyoto

Besides this, food is another reason why Kyoto is awesome. You can't miss the fresh food market street in central Kyoto, Nishiki Market. And other amazing food that you can't find in other cities. Kyoto is a beautiful gem, this is definitely a place to go if Japan is your next destination.

Osaka

Osaka was one of my favourite cities in Japan when it comes to food! Osaka is famous for various local dishes such as Takoyaki and Okonomiyaki. Though some of these are available internationally, the locals maintain a high quality of their food with it's authentic flavor. The Takoyaki in Osaka is one of the best I've ever had!

Universal Studio Japan is another famous tourist attraction in Osaka. Though we've Universal Studio here in Singapore, the rides and atmosphere is different over in Osaka. Though language was a barrier, the Japanese folks are so enthusiastic and friendly when comes to having fun!

Hakone

Hakone is one of the most breath-taking sight in my entire trip to Japan. Every photograph taken just felt as though it's taken from the web but damn no it's taken through my Nikon lens! I'm glad to witness one of the most beautiful nature side of Hakone.

This is taken at the mountain peak of Hakone, yet another marvelous view at the top. Perfect place for taking a break from the city such as Tokyo. Hakone is famous for their large number of Onsen (hot springs), nature beauty and view of Japan's highest mountain, Mt. Fuji.

Mt. Fuji

Visit Japan's highest mountain, Mt. Fuji - checked! This is taken at the 5th station of Mt. Fuji, it was freezing at the top so it's not advised to hike. Yet another breath-taking view!

Tokyo

Night view of Tokyo city w Tokyo Tower, taken from Roppongi Hills.

Have always been wanting to visit Tokyo for it's authentic Japanese food delights. We researched a lot on some of the Must-eat local food and which area has the best. Thankfully, we managed to locate most of the recommended eateries in the whole of Tokyo. I swear we eat non-stop. Read more on our food hunting journey in Japan here.

Seoul

Seoul was one of my favorite trip in all the places we went. Just miss everything there, the food, the shopping, the weather. And of course if you're a K-pop fanatic, this place is for you.

Our first time to witness cherry blossom during spring season, fluffy & beautiful.

In every city I visit, I will make a point to snap a city view photograph from the peak. Seoul is no exception either, this is (above) taken from the peak of Seoul, N Seoul Tower. From Korean BBQ to theme parks and shopping, read more on our 8D7N trip to Seoul here.

Hong Kong

This is my 3rd time to Hong Kong, as well as Disneyland. It was a short stay this time, as we transit after Korea. There are many iconic food in Hong Kong and as usual, we were busy hunting for them.

Ipoh

Ipoh is a place where a lot of memories are kept. It's like a place where I grew up w many familiar places I used to visit when I was little. This trip was to visit my relatives & explore Ipoh's iconic food. Truly a place of food paradise. Read our list of Food to eat in Ipoh here.

xx

It's amazing that we managed to visit 6 cities in 2013 and thank you @nkikichua for making our trips memorable. It's the beginning of 2014 and it's going to be a busy year for me. Nevertheless, travel plans continue. Heh, have a good year folks! x
