Tiffany Café is one of few Hotel restaurants serving an International buffet and a la carte dishes from a Halal kitchen. If you're looking for buffet spread of local cuisine served from a Halal certified kitchen, this is for you.
I was a little disappointed w the Seafood section, there were the Mussel, Sashimi & Prawns on that day. I was expecting more than 3 of these since we're paying more than $50 for a dinner buffet.
Fortunately, the Sashimi were really fresh and good! Can rarely have fresh Sashimi in hotel restaurants these days, I feel. And no more chili crabs?
There were the usual salad bar and bentos of sushi assortment for the sushi lover. I feel the range of food selections needs to be extended. Or probably it's just the day I went.
There were the local delight segment - Chicken rice w roasted chicken or duck. On the other side were the Dimsum (Custard Bun & Har Gao) & Kimchi noodles. Sadly, the noodles they call it were maggie mee D:
The kitchen is manage by executive chef Ms Hii Siik Cho who comes from Sarawak, and her expertise is in local delights and Asian cuisine. There were Ee-Fu Noodles, Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Fish, Tofu, Potato Wedges & more. Personally, my favorite is the beef as it's tender and juicy!
The best of all were the desserts portion! It definitely make it up for the savory dishes. It offers a variety of cakes to choose from to satisfied my sweet tooth :D
If you're a Durian lover, you will be delighted to know that Tiffany serves one of the best Durian Pengat and I had numerous bowls. The chilled Durian Crumble tasted rich & appetizing.
There were the hot/cold segment of the desserts. Eg. Bread Pudding/ Chocolate Fondue for the hot & ice cream/ mango pudding/ cakes for the cold. The dessert segment were the best in the buffet.
Their food tasted average and was nothing
much worth remembering. Some were slightly above average, while others fell
short of it. It's not that Tiffany is bad but for the price I'm paying, I would choose to dine elsewhere w more seafood selections & not just local cuisine.
