Teppanyaki Hamburg Nihonbashi Keisuke Bettei, Japanese Hamburger Cheese Steak @ Tanjong Pagar

Ramen Keisuke is back once again to unveil it's 12th and latest concept, Japanese Hamburger Steaks. Most people would know popular establishments by Chef Keisuke, such as Lobster King, Ginza Tendon Itsuki, Tonkotsu King and many more. Okay so the name of this new joint is a real mouthful, it is called Teppanyaki Hamburg Nihonbashi Keisuke Bettei but the menu is in fact really simple, with only two main dishes to pick from.

With every order of a set, you can enjoy an UNLIMITED flow of eggs cooked to your preference of style, yes I'm talking about a live egg station here. With 8 over different cooking style of eggs, this is indeed heaven for eggs lovers.

Apart from having unlimited flow of eggs, you can also build up your meal with a wide spread of Japanese side dishes and the rotating line-up feature 20 items daily. Do note that each diner is required to order a hamburg set to enjoy the unlimited serving of eggs and salad bar, so no sharing is allowed.

With the opening of this new concept, Keisuke has also brought in a new drink for this season. The new Japanese Sakura Cola incorporate a sweet and floral essence to it, quite an interesting soda beverage.

The menu is pretty straightforward with a choice between 2 main dishes - Keisuke Prime Beef Hamburg Set and Triple Cheese Prime Beef Hamburg Set. The main star here are the Prime US beef patties which are then seared on a teppanyaki grill and served on hotplates. Each set is also served along with a bowl of rice and miso soup, you can request for more rice but I don't think anyone would?

The original Keisuke Prime Beef Hamburg Set $18.80++ comprises of a 150g minced prime US beef shoulder, as well as fried ebi, fried bean curd and tofu with bonito flakes. The high heat of the flames gave the patty a charred texture while creating layers of moist and flavour within the beef. It is best to pair it with sauce and there are 4 different sauces to pick from - Keisuke original sweet and spicy sauce, Demi-glace, Oroshi ponzu and Teriyaki mayonnaise sauce.

*Additional Prime beef patty - $10.80++

The Triple Cheese Prime Beef Hamburg Set $20.80++ take centre stage as the beef patty is stuffed with three types of cheese - Cheddar, Mozzarella and Parmesan. Once sliced through, it actually releases a molten core of cheese.

However, the cheese flow on my beef patty wasn't as spectacular as what you see online. It was a little dry for mine and we definitely didn't take long for photos, not too sure if it's consistency. But nonetheless I still get to taste a decent amount of the cheese hamburg, it is rich and slightly salty than the original because of the different cheeses. But it is still a good eat with the cheesy texture within.

*Additional Triple Cheese Prime Beef Patty - $12.80++

Though my triple cheese beef patty wasn't as stunning as it supposed to be, I can't deny that they certainly score high in terms of affordability while being 'semi-buffet'. Over the past years, the Keisuke group has introduced several different concepts into the food scene just like the lobster and crab broth ramen, and now the Hamburg. I'm actually looking forward to the next one!
