Costa269, Costa Coffee All-Day Brunch w Croffle @ Holland Village

Costa269 at Holland Village has recently unveiled it's all-day brunch menu featuring Croffle - it's the marriage of two most favorite breakfast items, croissant and waffle. They are available in both sweet and savoury options. Costa269 at Holland V is also the brand's first cafe style outlet with a hot kitchen, dishing out classic breakfast favorites.

The new menu is headlined by the croffle I was stoked to try it because not many cafes has done this combination well. There were also a mixture of croffle, toast and bagel on spread, with the highest cost at $17 because of beef.

The Morning Croffle $14 features scrambled eggs, turkey ham and sautéed mushrooms. The usual and essential breakfast ingredients all in one plate, I specially adore the creamy fluffy scrambled eggs, the texture and taste are almost perfect. The croffle on the other hand has a crispy and flaky exterior while possessing a buttery and slight chewy centre within. This definitely makes a great brunch base.

Other croffle dishes like this one - The Great Croffle Fry-Up $17. Costa's version of a complete breakfast featuring croffle, topped with beef sausage, mushrooms and sunny side-up or scrambled. Although this is not my definition of a complete breakfast, where's my bacon and hash brown?

Eggs Benedict, probably the most commonly seen breakfast item in cafes. The Hearty Eggs Ben $17 is Costa's rendition of eggs ben which comes with a beef patty, layered with poached eggs on toasted muffins. I personally only go for Eggs Benedict when it comes with muffins so this was a star for me.

Apart from croffle and toast as a brunch base, there are bagel option as well such as this - The Salmon & Scramble Bagel $14. Toasted sesame bagel, sandwiched with smoked salmon and scramble eggs.

Croffle that is available in sweet option, there you have it - Very Berry Croffle $11The croffles are served with a choice of salted caramel, chocolate or vanilla ice cream and topped with sliced berries dusted with icing sugar.

There are two storeys at Costa269, upstairs is definitely a great place to chill over drinks and desserts. If you are looking for healthier option, you may opt for the Bircher Muesli. It is basically made from steel-cut rolled oats soaked overnight with Greek yoghurt and low-fat milk and finished with a choice of fruits and toppings such as chia and pumpkin seeds. What's best, you can customize their own bircher muesli based on their preferences.

The folks at Costa269 is set to expand the menu with new items in further, such as grill-led menu and craft beers. The newest brunch menu were pretty good in my opinion, and certainly marks high in terms of affordability. Nonetheless, there are a couple of things that I'll definitely be back for - coffee, croffle and ambience.
