Miam Miam Restaurant - Bugis Junction

Miam Miam is a newest French-Japanese cafe kitchen offers delectable dishes made from scratch and with top-grade ingredients. Dishes are at prices affordable to all with the highest priced item only at $18.80. The waiting time at Miam Miam takes slightly longer, as the kitchen starts preparing on the spot once your order is taken. The folks practice to deliver consistently hot and fresh meals.

With that, Miam Miam unveils two new competitions in the month of October. One competition pays tribute to a beloved game that has transcended time while the other is a social media competition. Read more to find out how you can stand a chance to win a Beats Wireless Headphones worth $420.

Game #1 - Tic Tac Toe Competition

1. When you visit Miam Miam, you will be given a card. Order one matching item in the appetizer row as well as 1 main course and 1 dessert of your choice. The dishes must form a match line. (Refer to pic below)

2. And redeem a FREE Premium Matcha Softee from the staff during your next visit!

Game #2 - Social Media Competition

1. Post photos of any of the 3 dishes on Instagram along with the hashtag #whatimiamtoday. The dishes must form a match line as well.

2. Get stamps from the friendly Miam Miam staff upon billing.

Iced Matcha Latte w Matcha Softee ($8.80) - Miam Miam is specialized in Matcha as almost half of the beverage menu is dedicated to matcha drinks. If you're a matcha fanatic, you'll find this section of menu exceptionally appealing.

Matcha Smoothie w Red Bean Cream ($8.80) - Matcha softee blended with special matcha honey and ice, topped with a scoop of homemade red bean cream. This belongs to a richer & sweeter beverage - If you like it this way like myself, this might be for you. Matcha & red bean - this over anything! :D

Clam Chowder ($5.80) - Nothing impressive, the chowder were slightly too 'milky' for me. Toasted bread was slightly hard spread w butter. Mos Burger has the best clam chowder for me till date.

Riz Au Curry ($15.50) - Baked rice with homemade Japanese curry, pork frankfurters, broccoli, cheese and egg. A successful fusion of Japanese and French cuisine, never expect it to go so well! Must-try.

Mac & Cheese ($14.50) - Oven baked pasta shells with 4 kinds of special cheeses with Japanese breadcrumbs. It tasted kinda too 'milky' for my liking though but overall decent.

Miam Miam Spaghetti ($15.80) - Miam Miam's all-time favorite. Sautéed with frankfurters, tomatoes, baby spinach and bacon! Tossed with French butter, their secret broth and shoyu. Another successful fusion  dish of Japanese and French cuisine, I was completely blown away by how well it work together.

Each portion of raw pasta measures 110g and is then doused in boiling water and cooked for exactly 7.5 minutes to achieve the perfect bite and texture.

Soufflé De Nuage ($15.50) -  Home-style fresh tomato sautéed rice topped with fluffy clouds of egg and cheese. It comes in curry based as well - Soufflé Au Curry ($15.50). Out of these 2 choices, I would prefer the curry sautéed rice to tomato. I feel the tomato based fail to bring out the taste.

Riz Noir Squid Ink Rice ($16.50) - this dish is basically, black squid ink rice with assorted seafood topped with omu egg! Not the best looking dish but I like how the omu egg brings out the overall taste. Lesson learnt: Do not judge a dish by the way it looks.

A meal isn't complete without desserts right?

Famous French Toast ($9.80) - It's an absolute must-have at Miam Miam! Fluffy French toasts in small bites, topped with home made whipped cream and drizzle over with maple syrup. Best French toast ever.

Cream Cheese Soufflé Pancake (10.80) - one of the thickest and fluffiest pancake I'll ever had. Soft and moist - important keys to a good pancake. Stuffed with cream cheese within & drizzle over with caramel sauce, oh my. Besides Cream Cheese, you can from Matcha ($9.80) & Original ($8.80) as well. Do note that waiting time is minimum 20 minutes for pancakes and soufflé. Just give your orders early as the kitchen bakes it on the spot.

Valrhona Chocolate Soufflé ($13.80) - One of a must-have desserts here at Miam Miam too. Indulge in a perfectly raised soufflé and heavenly decadent melted chocolate on top of your soufflé. Other flavours available are Matcha ($10.80) & Vanilla ($9.80). Baked to crisp on the outside & fluffy within. Do you know that soufflés are commonly served in fine dinning restaurants but you can easily enjoy one at Miam Miam w/o spending a bomb. *Note that minimum of 20 minutes waiting time is needed.

Here's the first outlet at Bugis Junction, while the expanding brand has recently opened it's second outlet at Westgate Mall late last year. Already establishing its presence in Singapore, Melbourne and Penang, the Miam Miam  team plans to bring its one of a kind passion and commitment to food to the world, with more openings in Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Australia, US and Canada in the pipeline.
