Hokkaido Sushi, Ala Carte Japanese Buffet @ M Hotel

Unnoticed by many, Hokkaido Sushi is located on the 9th floor of M Hotel and has actually been serving their famed Omakase set meals to a clientele of office workers in Singapore's CBD district. I didn't realized there were other restaurants in M Hotel besides Cafe 2000 but it's not too late to find out this hidden gem!

Recently, the folks at Hokkaido Sushi have decided to launch a buffet menu which includes most of their signature dishes at a single price. Above is the list of buffet items and you can eat as much as you can!

For the price of less than $50, this Japanese buffet is of so much win. Had a authentic and quality sushi party the other night, with some of the freshest seafood that are air flown directly from Tsukiji and Sapporo, Japan. Despite the steep price for their ala carte menu, people still go to them for quality sashimi and Japanese food. But now we can have a taste of all their specialities at a reasonable price!

Here are some of the buffet items that we savour, such as this Pitan Tofu which is also known as century egg with tofu. This appetizer is also one of their signature item among the many other exquisite dishes.

Stir-fry Pork with Ginger

Love the Ebi Tempura here where they use high quality big prawns in the right batter. The ala carte price for their prawn tempura is 5 for $35, so the buffet is really worth every cent. The batter was crisp and non-oily together with a succulent prawn texture, this is rather impressive.

Grilled Salmon with Spicy Roe (Mentaiko)

Besides the Maki roll and Temaki handroll, the best thing about this buffet is having free flow of the best quality sashimi! We had a number of people at our dining table which explains the portion of this sashimi platter. It includes Maguro (Tuna), Mekajiki (Swordfish), Hamachi (Yellowtail), Salmon, Tako (Octopus) and Scallop.

Soft Shell Crab Maki Roll

The buffet doesn't include any desserts so you may order it from the ala carte menu. We had the Hokkaido Cheesecake $15 that comes with fruits at the side. Decent and pricy I would say, wouldn't recommend.

There are a several private dining rooms here as well as a bar seating where you get to witness the chef preparing sushi and slicing your sashimi. Otherwise, the space is rather spacious and elegant!

Hokkaido Sushi aims to serve the finest and freshest Japanese cuisine and indeed my first visit here has been proven right. If you are a big fan of sashimi and sushi, I would highly recommend you here since there is a special promotion where the dinner buffet is less than $50! From traditional to modern Japanese dishes, I believe Hokkaido Sushi has all you need to complete this experience.
